This project was commissioned and funded entirely by the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Victoria. 

This research will analyse biological monitoring data to minimise the impacts of bushfires. Gathering the data through this project will help the Department to maintain natural ecosystems and deliver services to improve biodiversity, forests, water and carbon storage. It will also evaluate the capacity of the current collected data, and more generally the methods developed at La Trobe University through the Scientifically Based Monitoring Project, to address key criteria.
